IonVolt — Automotive R&D & E-Commerce Platform

Overview

IonVolt is a complete automotive research & development platform built from the ground up using core PHP and MySQL — no third-party CMS or framework. It brings together the client's research publications, innovation showcase, career listings, and a fully functional e-commerce store into a single, cohesive website.
The platform spans 50+ pages and 17 database tables, all managed through a custom-built admin panel with 25+ dedicated management screens — giving the client full control over content, products, and orders without ever touching code.

PROJECT GOAL

To build a single platform where the client could publish automotive research content (articles, blogs, news, insights) and sell products online — while giving their non-technical team full control over the homepage, listings, and store through an easy-to-use admin panel.

PROBLEM SOLVED

The client needed to update homepage stats, timelines, and publications regularly but didn't want to depend on a developer for every change — solved by making the entire homepage database-driven and admin-editable.

They also needed protection against fake signups and brute-force login attempts on the customer account system — solved with mandatory email OTP verification (restricted to trusted domains) and an automatic 15-minute lockout after 5 failed login attempts.

Managing four different content types (blogs, news, articles, stories) without clutter was another challenge — solved by giving each type its own database table and dedicated admin CRUD screens, keeping content clearly organized.

Clean, SEO-friendly URLs were required across the site — solved via .htaccess rewrites that serve extensionless URLs and auto-redirect old .php links, preserving SEO without breaking existing links.
